What is Moving Up Night?
Moving Up Night is a wonderful opportunity to be introduced to the next community that your child will be a part of at MMA. It’s a time to meet the teachers, learn about the curriculum, as well as answer any questions you may have about your little one’s transition.
What ages/groups meet?
In order to provide each family with the most developmentally appropriate information, we have broken up Moving Up Night by age group.
- Nido –> Toddler Transitions: All current Nido parents will have the opportunity to visit a Toddler classroom. This provides parents with an opportunity get to know Montessori at the Toddler level and explore developmental expectations for the new community.
- Toddler –> Primary Transitions: Toddler parents are invited to join our Primary Guides as they lay out the beautiful journey that awaits their child as they grow through their unconscious absorbent mind.
- Entering Kindergarten: Parents of ECE4 (“Second Year” Primary) students, are welcomed in our Elementary Program where they will have the opportunity to learn about our robust Kindergarten program and what it looks like for their future Kindergartener.
- Primary/Kindergarten –> Lower/Upper Elementary: Kindergarten and Elementary families with students graduating to 1st Grade and beyond are invited to join our Elementary Guides as they begin to explain what a Montessori elementary education would look like. They are encouraged to ask questions surrounding the continuation of a Montessori education through 6th grade.
- Lower Elementary –> Upper Elementary: Lower Elementary parents are invited tour our beautiful Upper Elementary environment where they will be provided with an opportunity to understand the latter half of the second plane of development. They are encouraged to ask questions surrounding the continuation of a Montessori education through 6th grade.
Where will Moving Up Night be held?
Moving Up Night for Nido through Primary will be held at your child’s home campus. If your child will be in Kindergarten, Lower Elementary, or Upper Elementary next year, the event will being held at MMA’s Sloan’s Lake campus.
When is Moving Up Night?
This event will be held on Tuesday, January 31st from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Childcare will be provided for all currently enrolled students.
